What do we do for an encore?

A lot of you said "we have to do this again!" Some folks couldn't come yesterday, and said "I'll have to catch the next one!" And I even had one or two semi-serious conversations about what "the next one" would look like.
There's a little spark of an idea in my head already, about what the next one might look like. But here's the thing: it's easy to say that kind of stuff when you've had a few beers and you're having the time of your life with your old friends. In the cold light of the next day, after the glow and the hangover have passed -- that's when you have to evaluate whether you meant any of that stuff about "yeah, let's do this again!"
So here's how I think this needs to go. Over the coming days, and weeks, and months, each and every one of you needs to reach out to at least one of your USR colleagues who didn't come to this reunion, and invite them to this site. The Gallery page will go live this week (I hope), including an ability for you to post your own photos here. That will be a great page to attract new members to the site, and this "I don't use Facebook" line will be no excuse to miss future events. IF we do another reunion, this will be the place where we inform people about it, so this is where USR alums need to congregate to get the scoop.
For now, building this community here is our priority if we even want to think about a second reunion event. So that's my ask. Most especially, if you have connections to CorSys/NetSys, manufacturing, or other parts of USR that were less represented this weekend, please reach out to them! This reunion happened because of word of mouth -- because YOU told someone you were going and they came because of you. Surprise! That means the people who came were mostly one or two degrees of separation from Fran and me. The only way to correct that deficiency is for you all to reach a little further, down the halls and around the corners to the people Fran and I never met.
I'm asking now because now is when it's fresh in your mind. You're high on the joy and gratitude you felt yesterday, just like I am, and you're feeling as good about USR as you've ever felt. Now is the moment to share that excitement with other people to build community, so we can see if there's enough "spirit" left to fuel up another reunion event.
What I'm asking you to do right now is pretty much exactly what we did to become the number one selling modem in the world. Just tell everybody. Just tell them. Once they know, the product sells itself.
