That's a Wrap!

Friends, today was everything I hoped it would be and more. I am so grateful to all of you for catching this vision and coming together from many corners of the world to reconnect and remember what an incredible experience it was to work for U.S. Robotics.

I would like to give a shoutout to Carla Knox for being the first and friendliest face you saw when you arrived to the reunion, and to Marc Pullman for helping Carla. To Dave Padgitt for producing the amazing video we had looping during the event, and will be making available to everyone shortly. To Matt Stolfa for recruiting and various odd jobs before the event (and I am so sorry he couldn't make it today - stuck in another city at the last minute!). To Michael Greene for the "Total Reunion" concept art. To my husband, Mike Bakula, for doing art cleanup and for supporting me while I built the website (so. many. F-bombs.) and "chaired the con." To all the early adopters who committed advance funds, bought tickets right away when they went on sale, and were so instrumental in spreading the word and building the crowd. Ultimately, we sold just shy of 100 tickets, and almost every ticket holder showed up.

And lastly, and most importantly, I want you all to know that it was Fran Fruit who really made the magic happen. She was the lead on finding the venue, negotiating the hotel contract, sourcing everything in the goody bags (except the cookies; that was her idea but my BFF Richard Barfuss and I scratch-baked and hand-applied the modem images to three batches of regular and a half batch of gluten-free cookies), catching all that stuff, assembling the bags (with help from her husband, Ken Fruit), catching the t-shirts, schlepping everything to the hotel, sourcing the flowers and their containers and tasking Ken with arranging them on all the tables, coordinating the pop-up museum, and a hundred other tasks I'm not thinking of. Fran and Ken invested hundreds of hours in making this all look really easy, and I am forever grateful to both of them!

Tomorrow, I'll have some things to tell you about what happens next. But for tonight, I hope you are all basking in the glow of fond memories, old friends, and in a few cases, an amount of alcohol that you will not regret in the morning. (You know who you are.)

Be safe in your travels home, and keep in touch!

Love,

-Tracy

Ditto everything Tracy wrote, except that she gives me too much credit. All that hunting and gathering was (occasionally scary and frustrating) fun for me, and a great break from my everyday life. And none of it would have happened without her vision and encouragement to "do the crazy thing" once in awhile.
