WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
USR Reunion, August 27, 2022, 11-3 CDT, Holiday Inn, 5300 W Touhy in Skokie, lunch, swag, shenanigans. $50 per adult to attend. Open to and and all USR alumni, OK to bring a +1. At this time, tickets are no longer available. We have given our final head count to the caterers and we can't accommodate any additions.
WHY?
Because we like you. Or at least we think we do. It's been a long time.
HOW MUCH AND HOW SOON?
$50. The deadline to purchase tickets was August 13. Ticket sales are now closed.
WHAT IF I SENT IN MONEY EARLY?
You helped make this possible and we love you for it! We have provided refunds of advance contributions to those who requested them. Many thanks to all our early adopters and to everyone who has a ticket -- all 96 of you!
WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR?
Parking is free and the buffet, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages are included. We have had to make some adjustments to our alcohol plans due to budget constraints, so you'll get one ticket for beer (including N/A) or wine at check-in, if you like.
WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?
It's lunch on a Saturday. You're kidding, right? Be comfortable. Shirt and shoes required for service. If you still have Robo-wear that fits, obviously wear that!
WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?
A Mediterranean buffet, with lots of veggies, munchies, sandwiches and desserts. Lots of choices for carnivores and salad fans alike. Please be sure we know about your allergies or dietary restrictions - email us at usrreunion@gmail.com before August 20!
AND IF I'M THIRSTY?
Soft drinks, coffee, tea and one ticket for beer (including N/A) or wine are included. Any beer/wine tickets not picked up at check-in will be available from Your Faithful Organizers for those who want a second drink later, up to a total determined by our budget balance at the time. Additional adult beverages are available at your expense. Please drink responsibly, at least while you're at the event -- what you do after you leave is up to you. And please tip your bartenders!
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT SWAG?
We'll have a limited number of tables to display your modems, POS displays, packaging samples, PalmPilots, tchotchkes and the like, and racks with hangers for t-shirts and other wearables. To be part of this wild and crazy pop-up museum:
Please pick your most unique and significant 3 to 5 items.
Post the list with descriptions and images on the Forum page here and/or send to usrreunion@gmail.com by August 25.
LABEL your items with your name and contact info.
Bring 'em along. Be early to snag the best display spots.
Take them home with you. Please.
HOW CAN I HELP?
You already have! With your support and efforts to get the word out, you helped us blow by our 50-attendee minimum like it was standing still. We'll have almost 100 people joining us! Aside from that, just be excellent to each other on the forums, on the Facebook and LinkedIn groups and at the event. Many thanks to our volunteers who have gone the extra mile to help with the event - you'll hear them called out by name at the reunion!
WHAT ABOUT COVID?
Let's face it -- there's an inherent risk to leaving your house. You agree to accept that risk to come to this event. We STRONGLY encourage you to take a Covid test before you come. We BEG you to STAY HOME if you are not feeling well. We URGE you to get vaccinated if you haven't already, and get a booster if you're eligible. We will follow all local, state, and federal rules and guidelines concerning masks and distancing. Lastly, we encourage you to make the choices that make the most sense for your health and that of those around you, and to respect those whose choices differ from your own.
